Inflatable SUP Board Set-Up Guide
Our simple guide will go over the set-up process for STAGE Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboards, however this guide can be used to set-up most SUP boards. If you need any help with set-up feel free to give us a ring at 801-938-9367!
Quick Set-Up Guide
- Make sure that board’s valve is UP before inflating, (push down & turn 1/4, to alternate between UP & DOWN position).
- Make sure the hose is connected to the “INF” or “OUT” side of the pump. (Not all pumps have an inflate and deflate setting!)
- Make sure to start on “DOUBLE ACTION“, setting on Pump, when reaching 8+ PSI switch to “SINGLE ACTION“.
- Start to pump up the board, please keep in mind the gauge on the pump will not move until you reach a minimum of 4 PSI, which is a completely filled up board that is fairly hard.
- Fill SUP up to minimum of 10 PSI & up to maximum of 15 psi (If you are renting / using the X10 or F11 3-chamber boards, fill the side chambers to 3-4 PSI).
- Detach the hose from the board and screw on the valve cover cap (IF AIR BLOWS BACK OUT: Make sure the valve is UP, see step 1).
- Attach FIN to bottom of board and lock into place using the sliding locking clip.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
AIR IS SHOOTING OUT OF THE VALVE!
The Problem: I pumped up my paddleboard and the second I remove the hose from the board all the air shoots back out!
The Solution:
Ensure the valve pin is up!
Press in the valve pin and turn counter-clockwise until the pin pops up indicating it is in the up position. This also means the springs around the pin should not be compressed!
THE PUMP GAUGE DOES NOT WORK!
The Problem: I have pumped up my board and the pump gauge is not updating as I pump air into the board, it still says 0 PSI even though I’ve pumped for a couple minutes and the board is starting to get hard.
The Solution:
The gauge on the SUP pump will not change until you hit 4PSI. Typically this means that the board is hard and you have been pumping for 4 or so minutes. You do not need to worry about over-inflating the board as it will be near impossible to do so.
