Beginners
For beginner snowboarders, sizing is very important to having a good experience on the mountain.
To size a snowboard for a beginner, stand straight up and set the snowboard next to you. The snowboard should land between your chin and collar bone.
Beginner snowboards should also be a full Rocker board, or a flat board. Beginners should stay away from full camber boards, or hybrid boards if possible.
Intermediate/Advanced
Sizing intermediate/advanced snowboarders can get tricky pretty quickly, because there is no wrong answer. Once you feel comfortable having a snowboard under you, it is really up to you what size snowboard you want for your style.
Taller & Stiffer snowboards are going to give you the ability to achieve higher speeds, and offer stability.
Shorter & Softer snowboards give you more control at slower speeds, and will be more playful and forgiving when mistakes are made.
Snowboards come in all sizes and stiffness, so finding the best snowboard for you is going to depend on the snowboarder and what you would like to do on the mountain.
If you would like someone to offer some ideas on what snowboard fits you, ask one of our AJ motion employees around the store for assistance.
