Beginners
For beginner skiers, ski sizing is one of the most important steps to having a good time on the mountain.
When you stand up straight, and hold the skis up next to you, the skis should land between your chin & collar bone. Beginner skis should also be soft, which will be better for easier terrain, and be easier to turn.
Intermediate/Advanced
Sizing intermediate/advanced skiers can get tricky pretty quickly, because there is no wrong answer. Once you feel comfortable having skis on your feet, it is really up to the skier what size ski they want for their ski experience.
Taller & Stiffer skis are going to give skiers the ability to achieve higher speeds, and offer stability.
Shorter & Softer skis give skiers more control at slower speeds, and will be more playful and forgiving when mistakes are made.
Skis come in all sizes and stiffness, so finding the best ski for you is going to depend on the skier and what the skier would like to do on the mountain.
