Assistant Store Manager

AJ Motion Sports based in Sandy Utah. We are a locally owned and operated company, dedicated to delivering the best possible experience to our customers through a state of the art ski rental process designed to be fast, accurate, and as enjoyable as possible.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic new team member to assist with the management of our Ski Shop located in Sandy, UT.

General Responsibilities:

  • The accurate assessment of the consumer’s needs and correct recommendations on product use.
  • To maintain and service all rental equipment as required by manufacturers.
  • Follow and enforce all risk management procedures
  • To accurately prepare equipment for pick up/delivery on time
  • To accurately data enter incoming stock into the inventory system, priced and merchandised effectively in the store
  • To generate sales of store merchandise and maintain all apparel/products in a neat and orderly manner
  • To capture all customer information on database inclusive of email and reference information
  • To make suggestions re-ordering and purchasing new products
  • Provide enthusiastic, professional, timely, effective, accurate and efficient guest services
  • Communicate with store management to achieve a seamless guest experience and maximizing retail profitability
  • Maintain retail merchandising standards and monitor overall retail store appearance
  • Utilize resources and store management to be knowledgeable of retail/rental products and services.
  • To ensure the open and close checklists and procedures are completed properly during your shift
  • To assist with staff scheduling, equipment planning and management and proactively ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Be willing to perform any related duties as required by management.

Hours of Work: As needed/flexible 20-40 hours per week. We do need hours on weekends and evenings. (Open 7 days /week including holidays during the ski season, except Christmas and Thanksgiving)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Previous Rental/Retail Management Experience for a minimum of two years
  • Knowledge of Skis, Snowboards, and related equipment and accessories
  • Binding mounting and tuning experience would be an asset
  • Experience with managing a team of people
